Dale Fincher: Intelligender?

I have a friend who used this test recently. I guess that there is something novel about being able to find out so early on. It's like instant gratification for gender determination!

Maybe I'm being cynical or morbid, but I wonder if part of it is to allow for an early 1st trimester abortion if you don't get the sex you wanted. You can't abort after the 20-week ultrasound, you can when you're only 10 weeks. Hopefully it won't be used for that purpose. =(

The morbid possibility of this product being used for gendercide certainly makes me nervous.
Another thought that occurs to me is that I can't help feeling like there's a loss in finding out so early. I guess I feel like we all get put in boxes so early as it is. There is this period of time during pregnancy when all a father and mother know is that there is a little human growing inside there. All doors are open and no paths have been laid out yet according to the sex. Maybe I'm being melodramatic, but I feel like that time is precious and it saddens me to think of it being lost.

We just had our first child, Pics here We waited to find out until birth. What I found surprising is how rare we were. Most everyone found out and some people got annoyed with us as they wanted to know to get gifts for the baby shower. (We ended up getting more useful items and the clothes we did get were yellow and green.) I think this is all part of the commercial trends in America that pushes us to see other humans less as human beings and more like consumer items, which tends to speed up life. I cannot tell you the joy of waiting to find out until birth. It became a prayer and waiting on God. So it made people wait to get boy's clothes. Patience is a spiritual virtue and as we continue to become more secular, I can foresee a continuing acceleration of life.

I go with Tito on waiting until the child shows up. That was the only way when our three came along. all girls and were we ever happy about that. Still are. But, they are a gift from the Lord and that is the best part. Now, over 50 years later, we are in awe of what the Lord has done. 12 grands and by the end of the year, 21 greats. Grampa Robert Seelye

I am currently 12 weeks pregnant, and I plan on taking the Intelligender test.

I can tell you right now that people who are getting abortions do not go to the trouble of wasting $35 on a gender test...most people who get abortions do not want to know anything about the baby, that would make it harder for them to go through with it.

The test is really meant for fun, there is about a 7% chance the test will be wrong, so people still need to wait until their 20 week ultrasound to find out for sure. People want to take these tests not so they can abort their baby based on sex, but so they can start planning, painting rooms, and collecting things for their babies.
